It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Yes, we’re less than two weeks away from a holiday that is revered in our home. Christmas first. St. Patrick’s Day is a very close second. It’s time for some Irish Dancing!
While our family awaits the arrival of Steve The Leprechaun, we spend our days following Kaitlin around town with her Irish Dance troop. She participates in the occasional Feis (dancing competition) throughout the year but March brings an opportunity to dance for all that love to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
The sounds of fiddles, bodhráns, flutes and uilleann pipes are already filling the air. This upcoming week, Kaitlin will be performing at various locations: schools, senior centers, festivals and pubs. Yes, we’re taking her out of school on Monday, Mar 17 to dance in pubs around Atlanta (feel free to nominate us as Parents of the Year).
Kaitlin is not alone in her celebration of Irish music and culture. As you can see in the video below, many kids nowadays are dancing to the sweet Celtic tunes in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.
Irish Dance is sweeping the Nation!
